This class builds the student's repertoire of techniques from traditional Thai massage and other bodywork modalities with the goal of working with specific issues of pain and dysfunction. Many of the techniques are derived from the traditional northern style sequence as taught at the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, but taught in a unique sequence that teaches muscle relationships and maximizes treatment effectiveness. We teach the traditional techniques as a means to achieving specific therapeutic benefits, with a depth of information about neuromuscular effects for each technique that is unmatched in the bodywork field. This course focuses on techniques and stretches for the lower body.
