Planning Your Visit to Thai Bodywork in Evanston

When You Arrive at Class

Here are some guidelines and helpful FAQs. If you have paid a deposit, the balance is due on the day of training. We accept personal checks or any major credit card. If you have paid for the class in full, no further payment is due. Thank you!

Check-In

The studio will open at least a half hour before the scheduled start time. Parking is available on the street. Please DO NOT park in the private parking lot beside the studio, it is a shared lot for use of tenants and you may be towed. If you are staying at the studio and/or need to arrive at any other time, you will need to make special arrangements.

What to Wear/Bring:

Wear comfortable clothing. You will be sitting and working on a mat on the floor.  We recommend you bring a pen and notebook. Please refrain from wearing perfume or personal care products with strong fragrances. This is a good rule of thumb for professional bodyworkers, as your colleagues and clients may have sensitivity. Commercial perfumes contain chemicals that are toxic to your system, so it’s better for you too! Schedule/Lunch: Lunch will be from approximately 1:00 – 2:15 pm. There are a variety of restaurants and a Whole Foods within walking distance from the studio. Students can also bring food and drinks and keep them in the refrigerator and eat lunch at the studio. The studio is equipped with a stove, microwave, toaster. We have water, coffee and tea available to students. Please be aware when making travel arrangements that our schedule is strict. We are required to do testing according to NCBTMB regulations on the last afternoon of class so it will be necessary to remain in class until 6:00 pm.   Studio Stay: We have space available if you would like to book overnight accommodations at the studio. The cost is $30.00 per night. You can schedule studio stays on our MindBody page under the Studio Stay tab. Check-in time is 5:00 – 6:00 pm. Please confirm your estimated time of arrival by emailing admin@thaibodywork.com at least 48 hours in advance. If you need to arrive earlier than that, you will have to make special arrangements by responding to this email. There is a $20 cash key deposit due at check in. Deposit will be returned once keys are turned in at the end of the stay. We provide bed pillows, bed sheets, blankets and comforters, bath towels, face towels, washcloths, and shower gel. There is a variety of bedding available, air mattresses, a futon, or stacked Thai mats. Sleeping area is non-private open space. There are two full bathrooms with a shower. There is also a full kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, coffee maker and tea kettle. We have plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and silverware. We provide a variety of teas, coffee and filtered water. We have free wireless available. We do not provide safes or lock boxes for valuables. Students are encouraged to bring a minimum amount of personal items as there is limited storage available on a non-private, shared basis with other students who are staying at the studio.
